I do direct sales and needed something to display the specials flyer on. On a trip to Hobby Lobby I came across what they called a memo something or other that cost $29 dollars
Perfect right? Just not the price I was looking for and since im always up for DIY challenge I said to my husband I can make this! And because he loves me he said ok what do we need?
One bag of wooden candlesticks. You will need two. 6 came in a bag for around $4. The small round circle was .75 cents and the wood dowel which I have no clue the price of since the hubby picked it up. He cut off 2 pieces of the dowel one about an inch long the other around 6 inches long.  The one inch piece was put into one of the candle sticks then attached to the circle base with a screw. The second piece of dowel was put into the second candlestick and then the candle sticks were glued together.

Next I painted another piece of wood that I purchased for $2.50 ish with some random stripes.

Then I stopped taking pictures because I got too excited to finish lol. So then I attached the base to the wood with hot glue and attached the clip which was $1.88 at Walmart in the office supply section. And finally here it is my finished product.

I think it turned out cute. It can be used as a photo holder, card holder, or a recipe holder for the kitchen. Made for around $12 which is less than half the price of the one in the store and with the colors I wanted. Best of all I can say I made it myself!
